Death entered our community again last week and claimed one of our oldest citizens, Charles Franklin Collins, son of John and Mary Collins. He was born near Radcliff Nov. 24, 1869 and died July 22, 1952, aged 82 years, 7 months and 28 days. He was married to Sarah Belle Sandford in 1893 and eight children were born to them. A daughter, Gladys, preceded him in death. The wife died in 1934 and in Nov. 1936, Mr. Collins married Hylah Cobb Harder, who survives him. Also left are two sons, Ted R. of Los Angeles, Calif., and Harvey F. of Radcliff; also five daughters, Mrs. Allie Huston and Mrs. Etta Sheline of Columbus, Mrs. Laura Dowler of Logan, Mrs. Mary Brown of Woodville, Mrs. Theresa West of McAthur; a stepson, Race Harder, who is with the army of occupation in Germany; and two step-daughters, Mrs. Luvenia Stevens and Mrs. Martha Blankenship of Columbus. There are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Pilgrim Holiness Church Thursday afternoon with interment in Radcliff Cemetery in charge of Strong and Son Funeral Service.
